Tonepaper, Silkeborg 2013

2000 pieces of handmade paper, size 17 x 24cm. Made from cotton,
birch and linen. All sheets contain fine sawdust of resonating
spruce wood.

Historically, the quality of a sheet of handmade paper was determined by the sound it made when shaken. At the Papirmuseum in Silkeborg, I collaborated with the museum staff and we developed four different kinds of handmade paper, each with a distinctively different tone. These sheets will form the basis of the solo publication Eaves of.., which will be published by CURA press in May 2014.

The pages will also be presented in such a way that they can be viewed and heard simultaneously, and this image shows a prototype for a frame to hold the tone paper in such a way that it can still move.
