12 drawings, each 14×14 cm. Marks made by pastel moved by the
draft coming through the stone wall. (detail)
The walls of this basement consist of both brick and large irregular-sized stones. A few stones are missing from the lowest part of the wall, leaving an aperture through which a constant flow of air enters the room. A coloured pastel is suspended in front of this hole using a piece of transparent tape. The tip of the pastel just makes contact with a sheet of paper, which is placed on the floor in front of the hole. The draft is slight, and the paper is not removed until a mark is made.
